Ring in Spring with Renewed Energy!
One of the key components of Feng Shui is keeping your environment healthy
and open to opportunity. To do this requires regular upkeep and maintenance.
Historically, when the weather began warming allowing for open windows,
homes would be thoroughly cleaned to remove the dust and soot from the fireplace
that had burned all winter. Even with the modern convenience of central heating,
the tradition of Spring Cleaning survives.
It is at this time of year that we begin to notice our homes and offices and
feel the urge to give them the "once over." In addition to traditional
cleaning to remove dirt and grime from surfaces, carpets, draperies and
furnishings, we should also consider the space or energy of our environments.
An energy space clearing will remove negative, stuck and otherwise imbalanced energy
from any environments that may be causing physical health concerns, depression, a
feeling of being "stuck or going nowhere" and a lack of opportunities and
abundance.
General space clearing can be done easily by almost anyone with focused
intention. One technique is to imagine a cyclone of white light swirling
through your space into very nook and cranny which sweeps up anything that is
harmful, negative or stuck. Notice where your "white tornado" feels to drag and
spend some extra time there to turbo charge the white light and clean out that
stuck or negative feeling. You may also add power to your space clearing with
sage smudging, sounds, essential oils, candles, mantras and prayers.
Space clearing in addition to traditional repairs, fresh paint, and clean
carpets is an excellent way to remove the heavy, yin energy of winter and
invite in the fresh, yang energy of spring, giving your home and office the
vibrancy of the season and promoting new growth. Adding some live plants or
flowers will also increase this yang energy. If you don't notice a lighter, more
youthful feel to your space, or if you are experiencing paranormal activity
(ghosts and other entities) you will likely need to seek professional help to clear
out and adjust your home.
