In 1998, I inadvertently altered
the course of my life by trying to clear clutter from
my office. I invented the Living Essence flower pen bouquet
because it kept pens close at hand, but out of site in
a beautiful floral arrangement on my desk.
At that time I had a very well
paying corporate job and also wrote for magazines to nurture
my creative self. I had a great career, a wonderful relationship,
nice house—the things many of us seek. Little did
I know that soon I would strike out on my own, throw my
life into a tailspin, and never look back.
In late 2000, I began creating flower pen bouquets full
time in my basement. Soon we expanded, moved to outside
offices and hired staff. It was evolving into a vision
I’d been developing my entire life, though, until
I started this journey, my life path had been taking me
further and further from that vision. So was born Divine
Basics and our "reconnect with the moments that matter"
philosophy.
Over the years this company has taught me a lot. I've
learned about life, love, people, business, and about
what makes me tick as a person. I've learned to identify
and face my personal challenges to live for myself before
I could help others, and to (if I may borrow the phrase)
"dance like no one is watching."
And that is what this company is about. It's about people,
about creating connections with ourselves and others,
and caring about what really matters in our lives.
Reconnecting with those moments that matter...That's
what we're about. but it's more than a mantra, it's a
way of life. We strive to continually introduce to you

and 30 states in the U.S. We've made it through a recession,
nay-sayers and decisions-of-the-heart. We've gained loyal
